You tell me everyone is leaving on different ships. Your thoughts uncomplicated as you do not censure the edges of now and to-come. You insist that you have preserved everything. Have you included the memories of your father humming Bolero, your twin sisters shifting in unison to the beat? I note that you are one whose footprints step slowly across the sea-dunes and I wonder how do you understand a default place? A migration? An immigration? In America you write to me to say this is what it means to dip my fingers into the waves. I’m touching home.
